  Black Friday Stampedes VS. District Convention Morning Gate Openings

  has anyone had a jw rant to them around christmas time about how "horrible" it is to be a "worldly" person at that time of year?.

  certian jws love to use the infamous black friday shopping riots that tend to occur as examples to back up this argument.

  now, while those incidents are indeed disgraceful, they are hardly isolated to the "world".. among my "priveliges" was to be an attendant at a few district conventions.

  And all of that for the grand privilege of wrinkling your nice clothes in hard plastic seats for hours at a time, struggling to stay awake, scribbling down scripture references as if they were manna from heaven and--oh yes--applauding on cue. Really? Really really?

  Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....

  I'm waiting for my wonderful never-been-a-JW-in-her-life missus to call me after they deliver her flowers at the office, where all her female friends can see I spent $$$ on her today. And she got the purse she'd been staring at for a couple months yesterday, filled with other gifts (including a R-rated movie) just before I took her to brunch that set me back a hundred-and-change. And I'll do it again next year too. Just watch me!

  Holidays rock! I'm never giving these lil' suckers up.

  But that's just my opinion.

  how dare these people!.

  they pretty much force you to pioneer, not pursue a good education, become a "servant" to their whims!.

  they don't want you accepting overtime at work because stupid meetings and door knocking is more important.. they accept pedophiles in their midst more than they accept anyone that questions their authority!.

  You know, the funny thing about the 'Ah coulda been a rich, money making (fill in the blank) but ahhhh gave it ALLLLL up for Je-HOE-vers' group is that they can almost never prove they were offfered that lucrative job/NBA contract/seven-album record deal they 'sacrificed.'

  It relieves them of the burden, time and expense of actually SUCCEEDING at anything.

  Think about it. It's a great self-acquittal while pushing that mop.

  i know i m a simple mind, but if 3 jws study with a jw-child or someone else for an hour, they ll all report there own time, which will add up to 3 hours, right?

  but the real netto time spent for the study is obviously 1 hour, no matter how many jws took part.

  am i seeing a mathimatical fault?.

  A minivan full of seven publishers does return visits for three hours. Cuz it's snowing. Or raining. Or hot. Or...something.

  Two people leave at a time to knock on the doors of people who consistently avoid them, then get back in the car and drive 15 minutes between each house.

  They stop somewhere to eat and dawdle for 45 minutes.

  How much 'field service' time gets counted total?

  (I'd say this was a hypothetical question....but I'd be lying)
